Last updated: 5 December 2025
This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application Zeen – Prayer Times & Quran, our APIs, and the website zeenprayertimes.com.
1. Who we are
Zeen – Prayer Times & Quran provides accurate Islamic prayer times, Qibla direction, Quran reading, dhikr tracking and related religious utilities through our mobile apps and web services.
The data controller responsible for your personal data in connection with the services is:
Faruk Selim Yıldız

Email: support@zeenprayertimes.com
2. Scope of this Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and share information when you:
- Visit or use zeenprayertimes.com and its subpages.
- Use the Zeen mobile applications on iOS or Android.
- Access our APIs or widgets integrated into other services.
By using our services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide directly
As of the date shown above, Zeen does not offer user accounts or sign-in. Most features work entirely on your device without you needing to provide personal data such as your name or email.
You may still choose to provide information to us in the following situations:
- Complaint and suggestion form: if you submit a complaint, suggestion or feedback through our website or other forms, we process the information you provide (for example, your name, email address and the content of your message) in order to respond to you and improve the service.
- Direct contact: if you contact us by email, we process your email address and any other information you include in your message.
If we introduce user accounts in the future, we will update this Policy before or at the time those features become available.
3.2 Information we collect automatically
We design Zeen to minimize the amount of data that leaves your device. We do not use third‑party analytics SDKs or advertising trackers in the app.
- Device and app information (on-device): the app uses information such as your device time zone, language, and system settings on your device to display correct prayer times, notifications and interface language. This information is processed locally on your device and is not sent to our own servers.
- Website logs: when you visit zeenprayertimes.com, standard server logs may record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, timestamps and the pages you visit. These logs are used only for security, error diagnosis and basic operational purposes.
3.3 Location information
Accurate prayer times and Qibla direction require location-related information. Depending on your settings, Zeen may process:
- Precise location from your device’s GPS or similar technologies, only if you grant permission in your device settings.
- Manually selected location, such as city or coordinates that you choose within the app.
Location data is used to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction on your device. We do not send your GPS coordinates to our own servers. If you prefer not to share precise location, you can manually select your city or coordinates and still use the core features.
4. How we use your information
We use the limited information we collect for the following purposes:
- To calculate and display accurate prayer times and Qibla direction for your chosen location.
- To provide core features such as Quran reading, dhikr tracking, reminders, widgets and notifications.
- To store and apply your preferences (language, theme, juristic method, notification settings, etc.) on your device.
- To respond to your inquiries, complaints, suggestions and other support requests.
- To maintain the basic security and technical operation of the website (for example, through server logs).
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our legal rights where necessary.
If we later introduce paid premium features or subscriptions, payment processing will be handled by the relevant app stores (such as Apple App Store or Google Play). We will not receive your full payment card details. This Policy will be updated with more detail before those payment features go live.
5. Legal bases for processing (for EEA/UK users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data based on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: providing the services you install and use, including prayer time calculations, notifications and Quran-related features.
- Legitimate interests: maintaining the security and operation of the website, preventing misuse, and responding to your messages, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: when we rely on your consent for specific processing (for example, precise location). You may withdraw consent at any time in your device settings or within the app, where available.
- Legal obligations: where processing is necessary for compliance with applicable law.
6. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal data and we avoid unnecessary sharing. We may share information in the following situations:
- Service providers for the website and email: we may use hosting providers for zeenprayertimes.com and email services to handle messages sent to support@zeenprayertimes.com. These providers are allowed to use your data only as necessary to provide their services to us and are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
- Legal and safety reasons: when required to do so by law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of all or part of our assets, where the receiving party will be bound by privacy commitments consistent with this Policy.
We do not use third‑party advertising networks, remarketing services or cross‑app tracking SDKs in Zeen.
7. Cookies and tracking technologies

We do not use third‑party advertising cookies or third‑party analytics cookies on the website. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect certain functions of the website.
8. Data retention
We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
- App configuration and preferences are stored locally on your device (for example, in local storage such as AsyncStorage) and remain there until you delete the app, clear app data or change settings.
- Emails and complaint/suggestion submissions are kept as long as necessary to handle your request and maintain proper records.
- Server logs for the website are retained for limited periods to ensure security and correct technical operation.

10. Children’s privacy
Zeen is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed to children under the age of 9. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 9 years old. If you believe a child under 9 has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can delete it.
11. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (for example, inside the app or on the website).
Your continued use of Zeen after the updated Policy becomes effective means that you accept the changes.
